What Type of Workout Builds Muscle The Best?

Many times guys with more than a few smarts come and ask what type of workout I feel builds muscle the best and fastest. This kind of question always leads me to another: what are the person's goals and what exactly do they hope to attain by working out? This usually gives people pause, as they may not have considered this other than thinking they needed to work out to be healthier, get girls, get stronger, train for a sport, look nicer or whatever. The point is, they don't have a clear vision of what they want out of this, and lacking that, it will be difficult to achieve much of anything.

There are many types of workouts that can bring results, just like the many different diets can help you lose weight. But just like diets, if you want sustainable, comprehensive results in your workouts you need to choose a path that you can maintain for some time, and one that will be clearly focused on the goals you have in mind.

For instance, using free weights, such as Olympic lifts and the classic body building routines can help you build bulk if you are diligent enough to keep at it and have the frame to support it.

Kettlebell training can develop great core strength and help you lose fat if you can handle this extreme form of training.

Martial arts will develop certain strengths associated with the movements involved therein, but will be lacking in other aspects.

Other sport-specific training will be good at training the muscles that are needed in that sport at the expense of other muscle groups. Think of cyclists, for a good example of this. Their legs get incredibly buff, but they are often saddled with anemic looking upper bodies since it doesn’t get anywhere near the kind of workout their legs get.

What I try and do with people is to get them to think clearly about their goals and what they want to achieve. After all, you're going to be spending a great deal of time and energy working out and so you might as well set yourself up for success.

My own particular opinion on what I feel is the best way to build muscle revolves around what is called The Adonis Index workout. This workout program is designed to deliver a classic “V” shape physique to any man who employs it, based on a classic formula known as the “Golden Ratio”. This relates to the measurement of the shoulders in relation to the waist, depending on height. By following the varied types of workouts and a sensible fat burning eating plan men can achieve this type of shape in less time than one might think.

The best reason for following this plan is that research has shown that this type of shape has long been considered the ideal male form, and it is practically irresistible to women. It can also help a man socially to render the best first impression possible. Do yourself a favor and check out The Adonis Index workout if you'd like to have more in your life than sleeve busting biceps!
