* Link between exercising & bulimia

* Flying & dehydration

* Dehydration, myths and Doctor Oz

* Earning a living, doing what I love

Yep, 2009 is history. So, 2010, here we come!

* Ginger root for muscles

We know ginger is good for you and tastes exquisite. We devoted a page on it:

Now studies shows ginger reduces  soreness, improves range of motion and thus helps you pack on muscle.

Use two grams of ground ginger each day or equivalent supplements. Changes should be felt in around eleven days.

* Kissing boosts immunity so pucker up

Yahoo! Dark chocolate is good for you. Moderate drinking is good for you.

Now studies show kissing boosts immunity. But don't make like the kissing bandit. The kissing has to be limited to a loved one not every Tom, Dick, Harry, Sally, Angelina and Barbara that stumbles into your path.

Now if we could only get some progress on those healthy cigarettes.

*Link between exercise & bulimia

A recent article comments on the close affinity between over-exercise and bulimia. Titled, "Sufferers Work Out Excessively, Compulsively, Rather than Vomiting, to Purge Calories, Potentially Risking Their Lives," article goes on to explain how the two are linked.

Practically speaking, it's a helpful caution to help us see possible developing concern in ourselves or loved ones.

* Flying & dehydration

It's nice to see the main concern of one of our sites, Healthy Water, gets some notice in a place that would seem to be out of the way. In "Dehydration and Flying: You can't afford to ignore the effects" Dr. Parvez Dara speaks to issue of flying while dehydrated as passenger orspeaks to pilot.

Synopsis of article follows:

We all know that proper hydration is vital to good health. In the case of flying, it is even more critical. Not only is dehydration more likely at altitude and its effects more pronounced, but the consequences of losing one's competitive edge are that much more life-threatening when at the controls of a flying machine.

Keep this in mind next time you fly or pilot.

* Dehydration, myths and Doctor OZ

So disappointed on Dr. Oz.

A show broadcast on Dec., 2009 stated that eight cups of water per day maxim is just a myth

Where to start?

OK. There is no research which studies the need whether 8 glasses of water a day enhances health.

Devising such a study would entail many difficulties. Besides, who would fund it?

But why would Dr. Oz go on and cut down the helpful maxim about 8 glasses of water a day?

Well, unfortunately many smart people simply do not understand this simple recommendation and present numerous objections which this newsletter will not go in to just now.

But, here are a few considerations which suggest the need to be as fully hydrated as possible to help maintain good health.

First, an unavoidable fact of aging is that as we age, our cells begin to dehydrate. We can try and delay this for as long as possible but some dehydration is simply unavoidable.

It's tempting to suggest that aging may very well occur because we dehydrate and vice versa.

Impossible to prove but very suggestive.

Second, exercise studies prove that performance slides as the body loses water in a very direct line.

Doesn't that suggest that even mild, but chronic dehydration, may cause all kinds of health disorders?

Again, hard to prove but seems reasonable.

Dr Oz's show is still helpful and fun in a light way. But he, like you and me, just ain't perfect.

So, do drink water, especially on an empty stomach and 30 minutes before meals. Try and drink fresh filtered water.

Do this for a few weeks then see how you feel.

Finally...

* Warning - Self-promotion, advertorial stuff ahead on how I earn a living, doing what I love

No need to read on if you are very satisfied with your career and hobbies.

But, if you have some wistful yearning to work half-time or even full time providing info to web surfers on something you love or know a lot about, read on?

I have been earning a living from providing health info for short while now. I count my blessings. I make a living from doing something I love doing.

Wouldn't you rather be working at something you are passionate about?

I don?t like to explicitly endorse any product that Healthy World is connected with. It?s just, well, smelly.

This is the exception.

As long as you know how to word process and know how to use a PC you can design a website on some passion of yours, that will earn some cash for you.

SitesSell will walk you through the process. There are video tutorials, PDFs, a great user forum and superb customer support.

Why am I making this pitch right now? Because, in addition to the many testimonials of how SiteSell has changed other people?s lives, I can now add my own.

Briefly put, I have been able to leave my career as an educator and concentrate on creating websites on a particular passion of mine, health.

I have never been more contented and satisfied. This may sound like some ad B.S. but I am making a living while working in my PJs, sipping coffee, on my preferred hours. The stress just melted off of me.

But note, I do work. No one is creating Healthy World for me or giving me anything.

And yet, yet, honestly I find myself working much less than I did in my previous careers. Only 2 -4 hours a day, taking 2 - 3 days off a week, doing what I want to do.

Not having to answer to principals, or out of control students - love 'em as I do - or, going to my previous line of work - clinical psychotherapist - dealing with very stressful situations.

I'm lucky.

And I want to share it with you. There is nothing about what I've done that is exceptional. You can do it too.

You may not be as successful (as far as making money) as I've been, as quickly.

Or you may be more successful than I've been.

You may do as well as the most successful SiteSell users. Those that make several hundreds of dollars, even thousands, from their sites every day.

I hesitate to trumpet this but I just want to lay out my experiences and, within reason, give specific details on my situation.

Now for full disclosure.

What do I get from referring persons to Sitesell? For anyone who stays with SiteSell past the guarantee period, I get $75 dollars.

At most, SiteSell referrals might provide a small fraction of what I make in total, chiefly from from advertising dollars (Google & Infolinks) and Healthy World?s two main affiliates (Aquasana & Native Remedies).
