Garlic is truly one of nature's miracle plants. It is now one of the leading over the counter drugs in many European and Asian countries. Garlic is actually an official drug that is prescribed in many countries for a host of diseases including cancer, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and for its anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties.

Being brought up in a typical chinese family, the garlic flavoring has always been a must in every meal. And because I eat garlic so often, that it is about time that I learn about this wonderful food and what it is that I have subjected my body through all these years. The health benefits and medicinal properties of garlic been known for at least 3,000 years. It has the reputation of being very effective in ridding the body of everything from the common cold to the flu. It has always been used extensively in herbal medicine, but only recently has garlic benefits been acknowledged by modern science.

Garlic has been shown to inhibit cholesterol formation and inhibit platelets from sticking together making it a viable option to aspirin. Many papers have been published on the antibacterial and antifungal properties of garlic
