Healthy Water site just recently cited an item on how some athletes stop drinking fluids to make some weight. Titled, "How to cut weight and diet," the article is about, well, just that. Dehydration symptoms can lead to all kinds of health disorders. Inviting them is nearly suicidal.
If you know anyone who might be into this or if you have been tempted to lose weight by losing water, note the consequences, from liver problems to heart problems to death.
So, warn anyone you know who might be a prospect for this madness. If it's you, just say "no."
Article we cite can be found
here* Male breast cancer and water contaminationMore water news...we also cited an item that associated water contamination to male breast cancer.
Titled "Male Breast Cancer Cases Potentially Linked to Contaminated Water on Marine Base" the item goes on to reference breast cancer in young, healthy Marines and concludes there is a connection between male breast cancer & water contamination.
Other studies on the connection between water contamination, and many forms of cancer, is also compelling. So if you have any concerns about the water in your area, please consider getting a good drinking and shower water filter.

water contamination and male breast cancer* Grapeseed extract prevents, manages Alzheimer'sGrapeseed extract is taken for its many benefits. A new study from Mount Sinai School of Medicine found the herbal remedy benefits extend to protecting you from Alzheiemer's.
So, if you keep misplacing your keys, or in my case, the television remote and especially for the elderly or genetically at risk, supplementing with grapeseed extract may be wise.
* Good news. Peanut butter is good for you!Why not? Nuts are good for you, no?
And, peanut butter is real food. Yeah, I know it's normally slathered on that white bread while the other slice is slathered in Welch\'s jelly, but at least the peanut butter is healthy.
So, stop turning your nose up at peanut butter. Whatever you put it on or in, this kid food is good for your heart, has a lot of antioxidants, help keep you slim & help forestall Alzheimer's.
I like spreading some on apple slices. Creates a nice contrast between the tart or sweet, crunchy apple and the creamy PB.
Sometimes I'll just spoon a tablespoon out of the container and lick it off the spoon between meals, just to hold me until the next meal. Healthier than a Snickers bar.
* Fish for macular degeneration Oily fish, like tuna, salmon, mackerel & sardines, reduces the chance of the number cause of blindness for adults - macular degeneration. Fish oil supplements can help too.
* Nuts to cholesterolNuts come up again, in our newsletter anyway.
Eating nuts has been shown to get down bad cholesterol (LDL). Now, researchers find walnuts increase good cholesterol (HDL).
This is a very crucial determination because decreasing cholesterol is kind of easy while raising the good, heart protective cholesterol is much harder to accomplish.
Eat about ten walnuts a day.
* Savory herb benefitsLearning that some so-so tasting food is good for you is no big deal. But herbs place high on both taste and health benefits. Here are three herbs that are delish and super healthy.
a) Oregano fights cancer and other diseases. This yummy savory herbal remedy is good on barbecued meats, potatoes, salads and pizza. For more, visit Herbal Remedies World for a few pages on
medicinal uses of oreganob) Tarragon helps treat diabetes. Especially good sprinkled on grilled vegetables.

health benefits of sage* Doctor Oz on water contaminationOne last item on water contamination with a brief review of Dr. Oz's new wellness show,
It's heartening to see major media take up the issue of water contamination, one of the two main issues our Healthy Water website.
First, the New York Times does a long series on the problem, a study that is then picked up by hundreds of other media outlets. Healthy Water cited report in the Water News section.
Now, while flipping channels, I stumbled on Dr. Oz's new show on health. This particular show featured a couple of segments on contaminated water, one on herbal remedies and another on exercise. A very good show that just happened to touch on the themes of three of the Healthy World websites.
I really liked what I saw and strongly recommend Dr. Oz's show to health and wellness conscious types, you know, like us. Yeah, I've read some snide criticisms of Dr. Oz. Frankly I think there is a lot of misunderstanding regarding Oz and maybe a spot of jealousy from other quarters.
Dr. Oz is shown on the Fox network, in NY it is shown 2x in the afternoon. Check it out. If there's something in it that you would like to share with us, just write us an eMail and we'll post it, somewhere.
